Reclaimed shovel ready industrial sites near global innovation centers.

Powering Pennsylvania, Washington DC's
& the Nation's AI Future

Featured in the Wall Street Journal

We provide hyperscalers with site-ready, climate-resilient locations that support cluster data center development in places pre-built to handle industry. At Fezzik Energy, we see what others overlook.

Where some see defunct steel mills and industrial relics, we see untapped gems—sites rich with existing infrastructure, abundant water, and deep-rooted workforces. For us, the past is prologue. These sites and communities once built America—and now, they’re poised to power its AI future.

Our current projects—just minutes from southwestern Pennsylvania’s Carnegie Mellon University, the world’s number one computer science and AI school, anchor AI infrastructure where it belongs: near talent, power, and purpose.

But while we build for the future, we never forget the people behind the progress. Our human-centric approach includes partnerships with community colleges, local schools, and robust labor unions to grow an AI-ready workforce that’s rooted in place and ready to scale.

Power, Industrial land, and people

Fezzik Energy is advancing three strategic sites in Southwestern Pennsylvania—each engineered to power the next wave of AI infrastructure with resilient, scalable energy.

One of our sites is fully entitled and shovel-ready, located near existing nuclear power generation and a future small modular reactor (SMR) development zone. It’s backed by strong community support and has the potential to support long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs).

All sites are approved for behind-the-meter development and are advantaged by direct proximity to major natural gas pipelines, including the Texas Eastern interstate pipeline. Our approach enables the development of high-efficiency, low carbon natural gas power plants today—while laying the groundwork for a nuclear-powered future.

Frequently Asked Questions

Fezzik Energy provides prime site-ready land strategically located near Pittsburgh’s AI Avenue, just 25 miles from Carnegie Mellon University, one of the world’s top computer science and AI academic institutions. This location offers immediate access to top-tier talent, cutting-edge research, and exceptional collaboration opportunities, creating the ideal environment for data centers to thrive. Additionally, the proximity to existing steel sites ensures a robust and reliable power supply already in place. With power availability in areas like Washington DC and Northern Virginia (just 165 miles away) running dangerously low, Fezzik's site offers an optimal solution for uninterrupted data center operations.

Fezzik Energy is deeply committed to community engagement and workforce development. We partner with local schools and unions to provide job training programs for the next generation of electricians, carpenters, HVAC experts, and industrial technicians. By transforming former industrial sites into cutting-edge data centers, we not only support the growth of the tech industry in Pittsburgh but also create employment opportunities and contribute to the revitalization of the area.

At Fezzik Energy, we deliver reliable, sustainable power without disrupting virgin land. Our data center sites are located on former industrial properties and are permitted for behind-the-meter natural gas generation near some of the nation’s lowest-methane shale. We partner with energy providers on solutions like methane capture to pursue net-zero possibilities—while also preparing for a nuclear-powered future.

We prioritize energy-efficient cooling, grid resilience, and safety—so the next wave of AI innovation can run sustainably, securely, and at scale.

The name Fezzik Energy is inspired by Fezzik, the beloved gentle giant from "The Princess Bride." Like Fezzik, we combine immense strength with a gentle, human-centric approach.
